Witches' Appeal is a collaborative short film that was part of a larger collection of videos and performance pieces. The overarching project is titled A History of Hands, Queer and Trans Philly, produced by Ricardo Bracho and the Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies Department at the University of Pennsylvania. It was shown at The Rotunda in April of 2024. The project worked with various local artists to retell/recreate the stories and art of queer and trans elders and spaces in Philadelphia.
This poem was written by Juliet Dempsey. It is a story about her two grandmothers who are depicted in the film as The Earth Witch and The Air Witch.
